Our Priorites

Driving impactful change through leadership, equity, and strengthened health systems.

At Women in Global Health Kenya, our priorities focus on strengthening leadership, promoting gender equality, and advancing inclusive governance across health systems. Through the Gender Transformative Inclusive Leadership (GTIL) Framework, we work to empower leaders who can influence policy, improve accountability, and build equitable health systems.

1. Advancing Gender-Transformative Leadership

We promote leadership approaches that challenge gender inequalities and create inclusive decision-making spaces within health systems. Our work focuses on empowering women leaders to participate fully in governance and policy processes.

2. Strengthening Health Governance

Strong health systems require transparent and accountable leadership. GTIL equips leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to engage effectively in health governance structures and influence policies that shape health outcomes.

3. Building Leadership Capacity

Through training, mentorship, and peer learning, we strengthen leadership skills among Community Health Promoters, health professionals, and women leaders. This helps create a new generation of leaders who can drive meaningful change within health institutions and communities.

4. Promoting Inclusive Decision-Making

We support leadership models that value diversity, equity, and participation. By encouraging inclusive leadership practices, we ensure that health policies and programmes reflect the needs of the communities they serve.

5. Advocacy for Gender Equality in Health

We advocate for policies and practices that promote gender equality in health leadership and workforce participation. Our advocacy efforts contribute to creating opportunities for women to influence health policy and governance at local, national, and global levels.

6. Strengthening Community Leadership

Community Health Promoters and grassroots leaders play a critical role in health systems. GTIL prioritizes strengthening leadership at the community level to ensure that local voices are represented in health decision-making.
